The Research and Development Branch (RDB) is a line function branch of the Philippine Coconut Authority, a government corporation under the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization. It supervises the planning, formulation and implementation of all agricultural and industrial R&D programs, projects and activities, authority-wide.
The RDEB logo assumes the shape of triangle whose broad base connotes a strong and solid foundation, with each end decisively soaring upwards, towards a single objective.
The big triangle stands for Agriculture, the lower left quadrant for Development. The red section, which represents the heart provides the lifeblood for the Branch, symbolizes courage and determination to pursue the search for knowledge, advanced technologies and persistence to share these knowledge for the development of the coconut industry. Congruent with the PCA seal, the dominant green color stands for the fertility and productivity.
