Join the War Against Brontispa
Be a SPY or an INFORMER

BRONTISPA : THE ENEMY
Mission: To wipe out the coconut industry of the Philippines
- A flat and slender beetle generally one cm long
- Feeds on the soft tissues of coconut fronds (palaspas o talbos) enough to kill the coconut
- Rapidly spreading in the Philippines
|

EARWIG: THE TERMINATOR
The Brontispa Killer
Knight in shining black armor
- Local natural predator of Brontispa
- Eats the larvae of Brontispa
- Mass produced by the PCA to combat Brontispa
|

COCONUT: THE VICTIM
- Young fronds/leaves appear damaged resulting from the feeding of Brontispa
- Can be easily identifed
- Young fronds appear brownish while the outer older fronds might still be green - the opposite of the normal, in which the inner younger fronds are green while the outer older fronds are brown

The PCA has the solution! Please be a useful INFORMER or a SPY by reporting to your nearest PCA Office or your Local Government Unit any sighting of Brontispa-infested coconut tree so we can unleash the Earwig, the Brontispa terminator.
You have a major role in this war! Call Tel. No. 9268533
